Description
Definition
Main activity status with respect to the labor force, that distinguishes between the employed and the not employed. The employed are those for whom work is the main activity, while for all the others, the main activity should attempt to distinguish between pensioners, students, and homemakers. This detailed variable distinguishes as well between different types of employment and unemployment.

1 case in HH 2489 is a single female aged 20 years old and currently enrolled (student), therefore identified as other in the relation to labor force (d10), however she is as per the employment status employed in an international organization in West Bank or Gaza strip and worked for 1-6 months during the 12 months preceding the survey.
This case, as per the ERF definition, was recoded “active” in the relation to labor force, “student” in the main activity status, and “employed” in the employment status.
